judgeParkerAs the first Judge of the 386th District Court, Judge Laura Parker has proudly served the people of Bexar County since 1999. During her twelve years as a Juvenile Judge, she presided over more than 20,000 juvenile cases. She is also the only Judge in Texas to hold a position on the Executive Board of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.

In addition to her regular court duties, Judge Parker presides over a mental health diversion program aimed at addressing the mental health needs of junior high girls before they become extensively involved in the juvenile system. She also serves on the board of Communities in Schools, a drop-out prevention organization, and the ChildSafe Advisory Council, which provides services to abused children.

Born in Austin and raised in San Antonio, Judge Parker graduated in 1992 from St. Mary’s University School of Law with her Juris Doctor, cum laude. Judge Laura Parker and her husband Fred Rhame, a pediatrician, are proud parents of an 11-year old daughter.
