Welcome to Maynicures for Mental Health!

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month and you can help start much needed conversations about children’s mental illness through a fun and… colorful… challenge by participating in Maynicures.

This page is dedicated to the thousands of families with a child who experiences mental illness.

Maynicures is designed to give them a voice during the Month of May. One in five children will need help with mental, emotional and behavioral care. That translates to 80,000 children in Bexar County alone.

  • Unfortunately, 60% to 80% of kids do not get the care they need, leading to school drop out, drug and alcohol addiction, even suicide attempts.

But if they get help, they will experience recovery and can be successful.

Be their voice by joining this fun and simple campaign.

Accept our invitation to join the “Maynicures for Mental Health” movement.  The basic idea?  Paint one of your fingers on each hand one color and the remaining four a different color to represent the one-in-five ratio of children with mental illness. Seriously.  It’s THAT easy! Here is how the campaign works:

  • Sign up with this form
  • You will receive an email with more instructions and samples of social media messages

That’s it! Please START NOW.  The one-in-five message is urgent and can help save a life today.
