My brother's obstacles made him stronger
Dec 12, 2014, 10:43 AM
Growing up, my younger brother was always different or difficult. As he got older, his personality and actions didn't improve. Instead, they became more disruptive in his everyday life. My parents knew he was difficult, but had a rough time getting him to agree to seek help. As time went on he realized his mental obstacles were over-shadowing his potential. OCD, anxiety, and anger management became his identity. Understanding he needed help and with my parent's support, he found help. He is not 100 percent changed but his obstacles are no longer his identity. They are attributes that have made him stronger and unique. He is a smart, funny, ambitious, and a handsome individual, not an illness.
