Speak Up For Children's Mental Health

About the campaign

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month and you can help start much needed conversations about children’s mental health through a fun and … colorful …challenge called Maynicures.

One in five children will need help with mental, emotional and behavioral care. That translates to 80,000 children in Bexar County alone. Unfortunately, 60% to 80% of kids do not get the care they need, leading to school dropout, drug and alcohol addiction, even suicide attempts.

But if they get help, they will experience recovery and can be successful.

Support the 1 in 5 children suffering from a mental illness by painting your nails and spreading awareness!

Kick-off Party

On May 6th, we hosted our Maynicures kick-off party at the beautiful Witte Museum! It was a great chance to celebrate Mental Health Month and the beginning of our campaign with all of our supporters. We ate delicious food, listened to live jazz music, painted nails at the DIY Maynicures stations and more!

If you joined us, make sure to share your photos on your social media accounts, using the hashtag #maynicures. Weren’t able to join but still want to show support for children’s mental health? Join the Maynicures campaign and paint your nails!

Join The Campaign

Accept our invitation to join the “Maynicures for Mental Health” movement and raise awareness! The basic idea? Paint one of your fingers on each hand one color and the remaining four a different color to represent the one-in-five ratio of children with mental illness. Seriously. It’s THAT easy!
