As a teacher, I was honored to be loved by story to share is about Andrew. When I met him he was 4 and the oldest of 3. His grandfather told me he would no longer verbalize since his 2 younger siblings arrived. He would call out my name when he wasn't feeling well or on the weekend when he was at home. Although most of the time he remained silent he would repeat word for word with matching tone and expression, my morning opening (circle time in our pre-k class). I would leave a note with my substitute folder to allow him to retell our opening if he wanted.
