Volunteers Make A Difference

I have been a volunteer with Clarity for the last 4 years and this placement was my 1st experience with mental illness in children. When I signed up, I was nervous and wondered if I could handle a position that was sure to be challenging. But I took a chance and kept going back each year. Seeing the kids light up and crowd around us when we arrive, bringing books, snacks, and activities, is the most rewarding thing about my time volunteering. I enjoy listening to them, giving them attention and praise, and teaching them something new. And when they remember me and something I taught or told them, I know I’ve made a difference.
